Honest MileFix what is broken. Explain what is not.

Cars we know — and work we do not pretend to know

This page exists so you do not drive across the city to be told no — and so that everything on the other pages is easier to believe.

The brands we mainly take

  • Toyota
  • Honda
  • Isuzu
  • Mitsubishi
  • Nissan
  • Mazda
  • Suzuki
  • Hyundai
  • Kia
  • Ford

Ford: the common models where parts are reliably available, not the whole range.

Body types

Family sedans, small SUVs, MPVs, common pickups, small commercial vans

Where we are strongest

5 to 15 years old, and out of warranty

Owners here no longer want to pay authorised-centre rates, but still want the correct part, a written record, and a repair that is actually safe. This is what we see every day.

A parts staging shelf with boxed parts, each carrying a handwritten job number on a strip of tape

Limited support

  • Battery-electric cars

    We will
Tyres, brakes, wipers, the 12 V battery, and some routine chassis work.
    We will not
Anything on the high-voltage system: traction battery, inverter, motor internals, HV harness, on-board charger. That needs a centre with the equipment and the certification.
  • BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Land Rover

    We will
A look, a listen, a road test, an honest opinion, and a referral to a specialist we trust.
    We will not
Complex repair or coding. Not because these cars cannot be fixed, but because it takes brand-specific equipment, technical data, programming and matching capability, and a stable parts channel — none of which we have.

Work we do not take at all

Engine overhaul, block or crank machining, gearbox internal rebuild, diesel injection pump rebuild

Why

Specialist work that needs specialist equipment. A small shop taking it on is more often the problem than the answer.

Where to go instead

We refer it to the engine or gearbox specialist we work with.

Chassis straightening, large-panel bodywork, full respray, serious accident repair, flood and fire recovery

Why

We are a mechanical and basic-electrical shop, not a body centre.

Where to go instead

We point you at a body shop that works with insurers.

ECU tuning, performance exhausts, turbo upgrades, lowering, non-original brake conversions, track setup

Why

We keep daily cars safe and predictable. Making one faster is a different trade, and the people who do it are better at it than we are.

Where to go instead

Go to somebody who genuinely does that work.

Parts you bring yourself

Allowed, and we do not forbid it — but there are limits.

  • Unbranded safety parts
  • Second-hand brake components
  • Suspension parts whose specification we cannot confirm
  • Opened electronic parts in unknown condition
  • Counterfeits

Where we do fit a part you supplied, we warrant our labour and not your part — and that sentence is printed on your estimate before you approve it.
